Project introduction
This is a pattern overview of a playful summer project from Atelier Delilah: a crochet bag charm shaped like a tiny beach scene, made from a miniature tote, a pair of flip flops, and a little sunscreen bottle. It clips onto a tote, market bag, or keys as a handmade detail. The full row-by-row instructions live with the designer, so see the Original designer’s pattern and instructions to crochet it.
The charm combines three small parts into one set: a sky blue and beige mini tote, two pink flip flops with beige soles and straps, and a yellow and beige sunscreen bottle with a tiny cap. Small alone, together they form one cheerful summer vignette.
Materials Needed
Gather everything first, since a small multi-part project moves faster with supplies on hand. The source list is short: sport weight cotton yarn in four summer colors, two hook sizes, a little stuffing, embroidery floss for bottle details, and a mini carabiner clip keychain ring.
- Sport weight cotton yarn: beige, pastel pink, sky blue, pastel yellow
- 3 mm crochet hook
- 2,5 mm crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- Embroidery floss for the bottle details
- Mini carabiner clip keychain ring

Notes
A few practical notes from the designer help you match the intended size. The stated gauge is 5 x 5 cm = 12 sc x 13 rows. The beach bag measures approximately 10.5 cm x 6.2 cm, not counting the handles; each flip flop approximately 6.6 cm x 3.4 cm; the sunscreen bottle approximately 9 cm x 5 cm. Each round ends with a slip stitch into the first stitch.

The designer points makers toward Froggit, a free browser-based row counter for tracking rows, rounds, and project time. It needs no download or account. On a multi-piece project like this, a simple counter helps keep the separate parts organized.
The Tote Bag

The tote begins with a 3 mm hook and sky blue yarn, from a short starting chain with the first stitch in the second loop from the hook. The base grows as an oval: work down one side of the chain, around the end, and back up the other side, widening the corners with increases. One round through the back loops only gives the base a crisp edge.
Partway up, the color changes to beige for the upper walls, which continue in plain rounds to full height. The yarn is cut and ends woven in. This largest piece is the visual anchor: handles, flip flops, and the sunscreen bottle all attach to it.
The Bag Handles - Crochet Beach Keychain

Two handles are made separately with the 3 mm hook and sky blue yarn. Each starts from a chain with the first stitch in the second loop from the hook, worked as a single row of half double crochet. The yarn is cut with a tail for sewing, and both handles are sewn onto the bag.
A hanging loop comes next in beige yarn with the 2,5 mm hook: a chain joined with a slip stitch into the first loop to form a ring, ends woven in. Its bottom passes through the top of one blue handle and is pulled upward to sit above the bag, ready for the keychain ring.
Right Foot - Crochet Flip Flop Pattern Overview
Each sandal begins as a shaped piece in pink yarn with the 3 mm hook. From a short starting chain, with work beginning in the second loop from the hook, the piece grows in rounds along both sides of the chain. Single, half double, and double crochet blend in the rounds, while increases and decreases shape the wider toe and narrower heel.
After the final round, the yarn is fastened off and cut. A second piece in beige yarn, made the same way, becomes the underside. The two layers are sewn together into one complete sole, ready for straps.
Left Foot

The left foot mirrors the right. It uses the same 3 mm hook and pink yarn, begins from the same short chain, and grows through three shaping rounds blending the three basic stitches with increases and decreases. The shaping curves the piece correctly for the opposite foot.
As with the right foot, the yarn is fastened off and a matching beige piece is worked for the underside. The layers are sewn together, completing the pair. With both soles finished, the project moves on to the straps.
The Crochet Flip Flop Pattern Straps

The straps are worked in beige yarn with the 3 mm hook, from a short chain with the first stitch in the second loop from the hook. Each strap is one shaped row of slip stitches, single crochet, and increases; the second strap mirrors the first so the pair sits correctly on opposite sides.
The slip stitch sections are sewn together into the classic little Y shape of a flip flop thong, and the strap ends are sewn onto the sole, repeating the steps for the second foot with mirrored placement. A beige hanging loop worked with the 2,5 mm hook is slip stitched into the top stitch of each flip flop, closed into a loop, and attached to one beach bag handle.
Sunscreen Cap
The little cap is worked in beige yarn with the 3 mm hook, beginning with a magic circle. It grows through five short rounds, one of them through the back loops only for a defined edge. The yarn is cut and ends woven in, leaving a tidy little dome for the bottle’s base.
Sunscreen Bottle

The bottle starts from a magic circle in beige yarn with the 3 mm hook. The lower rounds shape a small base, including one round through the back loops only and the next through the front loops only, before the work continues upward. The color then changes to pastel yellow for the upper body.
The bottle is lightly stuffed with polyester fiberfill as it grows; the designer cautions against overstuffing so the piece keeps its bottle shape. The top opening is closed by folding it in half and working half double crochet through both layers. The yarn is cut, ends woven in, and the cap sewn to the bottom.
Embroidery floss adds the finishing touches, like a little sun or brand mark. A beige hanging loop worked with the 2,5 mm hook is sewn to the top left side, and the bottle attaches to the right side of one beach bag handle.
With that, the tiny beach set is complete: a mini tote, flip flops, and a sunscreen bottle hanging together as one cheerful charm. It clips onto a tote bag, market bag, or keys, and makes a thoughtful handmade gift.
